AYOP Update

My update is for the week ending March 8th. I was out of action for two days, thanks to a migraine. However, I did manage to complete my to do list.

I was excited to get my new project on the needles. The pattern is Easy Folded Poncho by Churchmouse Yarns & Teas. I’m using Rowan Felted Tweed in Black. I did purchase six balls, so I have the option to knit the poncho with the cowl.

I also cast on another pair of Vanilla socks for DH. The yarn I picked was a deep stash dive. It is from Gnomes Acres. I believe it has been in my stash for at least ten years. It is the Independence Day set.

The red is a true red IRL. I am almost ready to start the heel. It makes for great TV knitting. I also crocheted my four granny squares for my blanket. Most of the yarn I’m using is left overs from previous projects.

My plans for this week are to complete one sock, crochet three squares, and continue knitting on my poncho. If possible, I would like to complete my poncho by the end of March. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

    1. Thanks. It’s the Pittsburg Steelers colorway which is our arch enemy. But it’s also the colors of my college alma mater, Purdue University. I already have a pair of crew length socks. These will be shorties.

  1. Very nice photography. Your tea cup and macaroon are a great addition to your knitting. Haha, congrats on the very deep dive into your stash for your sock yarn. I hope to similarly get some old sock yarn knit this year. I also need to start a scrap blanket. My church group is willing to teach crochet so I really should have someone teach me how to crochet the squares. Thanks for the idea!!

    1. Thank you. It was Nutella. I’ve never had one before. We visited a new bakery. I’m pleased at the lack of yarn I’ve purchased this year. I would love a craft group at my local church. You should a lot of fun.

  2. I like that poncho pattern. Looks perfect for spring or fall. The color of the sock is great! Red socks are a must have. Your squares are very nice and what a special way to use up leftovers.
