Year of Projects Week 3 of 52

Thank you for all the lovely Birthday messages for yesterday. My DH took me out for lunch on Friday, as I wanted to spend my birthday at home relaxing. It was great to have a sleep-in and take things slowly.

I have two starts and one finish. I started and finished The Black Cat Watch by Brenda Gervais. I stitched it on 40-count linen by Number 12 Stitch Co. The frame I used was originally gold, but I had my DH spray one coat of black paint. It turned out so well. I love how old it looks. I still plan to stitch the other two patterns in the set.

The second project I started was the Grimm’s Fairy Tales by Clouds Factory. I started on Saturday as my threads only arrived Friday afternoon. The linen I’m using is 36-count Fiber on a Whim in Bean Stalk.

I also started a new book this week. Anthony Horowitz is by far my favourite modern Who-dun-it writer.

My plans for the next week are to continue stitching on Grimm and Gourdness gracious.

Currently watching: The Order Season 2

  1. Oh I do so like how the black cat watch turned out and the frame is just perfect for it! Looking forward to seeing more of Grimms as it comes together more and I’m glad you had a relaxing birthday.

  2. You’ve not mentioned which of Anthony’s books you are reading. I just finished one (Moonflower Murders) and kept thinking it seemed so familiar to me but I hadn’t read it before as I log all my books on StoryGraph. Turned out I’d watched the TV adaptation last year 😂

  3. Love the stitch work and that frame really sets it off. I also was admiring the chocolate donut with smarties in the pic……lol…..now I am hungry for one too.

  4. What a great idea for the frame, it goes so well with the black cat. Sounds like you had the perfect celebration for your birthday. It’s so great to be able to sleep in and get a slow start to the day!

  5. Ooooo, I love your cat and the frame is perfect. I’m starting to think about making some fall things. I also need to plan for halloween things. I don’t do a lot of seasonal decorating but maybe I’ll get a few things made in time.
